iqaqaa: First Lomo Camera

The most exciting thing in 2011 is the purchase of Diana Mini Jiyu, my first lomo camera ever. Thank you, Sofi for getting me one. I owe you a big fat kiss. :) It's antique, cool, pretty, cute, beautiful combined together in one piece. How could you say NO to this pretty one? How could you even resist it? How could you not blow kisses to her before going to sleep at night?

This is it. :)

Brief details about this cutie pie and what she can do :

1) It uses only 35mm film, which easy to get. (Black and White, colour negative and transpearency)

2) Shoots two different formats: Half-frame and square.

3) We have to set everything- The focus position, aperture switch- sunny or cloudy, short or long exposure. So this is when the thrill comes in. And also the challenges.

4) We can take multiple exposures- or what we call MX! This is so cool, I can hardly breathe while applying this.

5) It comes with a flash and also colour filters that can be used with the flash. Although I have yet to master this, I think this is my most favourite part of the camera. :)

Now, the big question remains: HOW GOOD ARE YOU IN LOMOGRAPHY?

Erm, no, Sir. I am never a real photographer before. I prefer to be IN the pictures rather than me taking pictures. So, yeah, I don't have much of the basic rules of taking pictures. But after some time, I saw what a lomo camera can do, I told myself that I absolutely want to learn how to do that. And I find myself gaping at lomo results. And I find myself telling my boyfriend that I want one. And I find myself doing research on lomo cameras. And I find myself with a Diana Mini Jiyu this day.... :)
