road to singapore
i often read the comments written by tourists from various places who came to visit malaysia, expressing their dissatisfaction about the transportation system in this country. the schedule does not turn out to be punctual and the train or bus is forever late. It is something i did not really believe until i experience the matter myself. instead of taking the bus this time, my dad came up with a suggestion to take a train to singapore? guess what happened?

we expected to arrive at our hotel in singapore at about 3pm. beyond our expectation, we arrived at 7pm.
JB...
at about 2pm, abah drove us to JB....
here's what i like most about JB ------ the food!
that night, uncle acher and uncle hamid brought us to this place (yah, how could i forgot to find out the name of the place!) for a nice dinner..
i had kerang bakar, nasi goreng seafood, laichee kang and i tried some fried baby crabs, which was not that amusing.
batu pahat - episode 2
without abah (who was in a meeting, we could not afford to drag him out of it), mum, cik lah and I picked tok mak up at tok teh's house to go for this wedding. urm, can u guys imagine this? a wedding on TUESDAY? n following the johor's tradition, the women n men were seperated into two tents. the male guests on the left tent and the female guests on the right tent. of course we hadnt planned on going this kenduri and we were the only guests wearing jeans to a kenduri- except for mum who luckily bought her jubah.
and i gotta say this, the bride and bridegroom arrived at about 3 pm, which is considered a little too late in other states. i guess this must be another johor tradition, perhaps?
(my mum before leaving the hotel for the kenduri)
at 5pm, we walked a five-minute walk to The Summit to support abah, who took part in bowling..
batu pahat - episode 1
15 Disember.
And so our journey began as soon as we dropped iqbal off his college. Trip 1 – Batu Pahat, Johore. Yay! My dad had to attend a meeting in Katerina Hotel Batu Pahat. Of course it wasn’t exactly as all of us planned but it was urgent and we had to tag along.
Plan A – drive all the way to JB on Tuesday. Spend a night at uncle hamid’s and another night at uncle acher’s. head straight to Singapore on Thursday, stay thr for 3 days and head back home.
Plan A = execution failed
Abah came up with Plan B, which is:
Plan B – spend two nights in batu pahat, drive to JB, spend a night at uncle hamid’s and then on Thursday, go straight to Singapore.

tok mak did not stay with us. she said that it would bore her bones out because she was not allowed to cook there because she was not allowed to be in the hotel kitchen because the chef would chase her out. so to avoid all that, she went and stay with tok teh, so, that, urrmm....she could cook.
here is a picture of tok mak, cik lah, my mum and me. before tok mak left for tok teh's.
